We are the natural world.

I am sure I am not the only one saddened about what is happening in the world right now. I made a conscious decision to stop watching the news 2 years ago but with a huge part of our planet on fire at the moment and countries being on the verge of war it is hard to ignore. Mother nature has always provided us with everything we need to survive but sadly the human race has become so disconnected from her, we don't even believe we are part of the natural world. We are arrogant enough to think we are separate and in control of what she produces and if that isn't good enough, we produce it ourselves. We define wilderness as somewhere nobody has inhabited........ We are wilderness and we are the natural world. Until we all get back to understanding that nature is not something we visit or watch on the telly but runs through our veins and our soul we are never going to start healing our lands. But I sense a shift......... What is happening in Australia (and lets not forget the Amazon is still burning) is so appalling I believe this has genuinely affected everyone. Moving people to tears, donating money, praying for the burning to stop. However it is affecting us from our sofas as we watch the devastation unfold, the shift is towards awareness, positivity and what we can do to help heal what we have done to Gaia and how we can make a change. I like to believe we are at a tipping point and the human race are going to side with pulling together, healing, reconnecting, gratitude and positive action rather than further blame, war and devastation. So let's not allow the billions of animals, trees and land burn in vain, let this be our wake up call as a species to make us realise 'we are nature' and without healing our beautiful planet we cannot survive.
