Rainy day activities in the New Forest.

On these wet and windy May days 🙄 you can still enjoy the forest by visiting the New Forest Heritage Centre, Lyndhurst.

The centre is fully open again with it's free museum (donations welcome) where you will find an array of information about the New Forest including historical facts and how the working forest is conserved and managed along with lots of activities to keep the children entertained.

There is also the reference library where you can research people and places in the local area with helpful and knowledgeable volunteers to help guide you to the right information.

Oh yes, don't forget the regular exhibitions in the gallery. The current one focuses on 'Metamorphosis.'

Round off your visit with a drink and light lunch or sweet treat in the centre cafe and browse the local produce, gifts, books, maps, cards or buy a souvenir guide as a reminder of your visit in the shop.

Staff and volunteers are very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming to you, your muddy boots, wet kagools and doggy companions.🐾☔
