The wonderful Butchers Broom
Butchers Broom is a sign of ancient woodland and thrives in the shadow of old trees. Its name originated from the practice of using mature stems tied together to clean butchers' blocks. Moreover, it possesses antiseptic qualities that would be transferred onto the block. Butcher's Broom is also known as Knee Holly because of its evergreen prickles and growing to knee height, but it isn't related to holly. In fact, it is part of the lily family.

From your head to your heart space
When we overthink a topic or a choice, we tend to struggle with our 'what if's' and 'am I worthy?' We go back and forth weighing the pros and cons, adding more questions on top, often leading us to believe that it's not a good idea or getting side-tracked by the additional questions and losing sight of the initial query! (Just writing this makes me feel tired! 😆) However, this is a common pattern we all engage in when analysing decisions, thoughts, emotions, and feelings sol

Homemade Irish cream recipe.
This is a really lovely Christmas gift to give to loved ones and easy to make. After all, Christmas isn't Christmas without some Irish Cream, and this recipe makes 2.5 litres, so plenty for gifts and you too! (Just don't count the calories!)

Breaking the generational patterning.
A repeated pattern I see within my work is people trying to get approval from parents, and some have been seeking it all their lives. Being a blood relative doesn't guarantee their support, physical presence, or that you must conform to their ways. Accepting this realisation can be the most challenging aspect. It may resemble a grieving process when you release the longing for parental support, especially if you have held onto this longing into adulthood. If a parent doesn't

The wonderful red fox.
Foxes are one of my favorite woodland animals and are now one of the few forest predators left, persecuted only by man. Foxes have adapted well to live in towns and cities where they are seen as vermin, raiding bins and generally making a nuisance, noise, and mess. However, they have been pushed out of their natural habitats, and we need to remember that we created this issue. During October and November, the bravest of the siblings venture off to establish their own territor

Welcoming November.
Its official, the darker evenings are here, but don't head into the winter with dread, wrap up warm and embrace the fire festivals! There is something about the smell of bonfires this time of year, maybe it is awakening an ancestral memory locked away in my DNA to feel the need to stare at the flames with the aromatic combination of cold air and wood smoke.

Halloween or Samhain?
Samhain (pronounced Sow-win) is a Celtic Pagan celebration, to welcome the last of the harvest and to embrace the dark half of the year. It is celebrated halfway between the autumn and winter equinox. Being in the fields all day bringing in the last of the harvest, the home hearth fires would be left to burn out. Samhain celebrations would start at night fall with a community fire, bringing villagers and farmers together to celebrate. They would all take a flame from the fire

Remember, Remember, the fear of November!
My energy healing work started with animals and they are still my greatest teachers, but I want to give you a few tips on how to reduce the fear in your upset animals when the fireworks start to whizz and bang. Before you turn your attention to your animal, there are a few things you have to consider. Firstly, your animals that live in your house with you are still getting used to the fact that in the past few days you have decided to start doing everything an hour earlier th

The magical apple tree
The crab apple tree (Malus Sylvestris) is our only native apple tree here in the UK. These beautifully gnarly, small trees live to about 100 years old and can be found growing in moist well-drained soil. They can also be found in wild hedges bearing their beautiful fruit or delicate flowers depending the time of the year. The true crab apple is scarce as the trees that we recognise are often cross pollinated with other apple species. True crab apples have very small fruit whi
