Nurtured by nature

On certain days, the draw of nature is so powerful that ignoring it becomes uncomfortable and distracting.

Today was one of those days. Not to rush through the woodland covering ground, but the call back to home. Back to melting into the landscape. Back to the comforting hug of the trees and warm sunshine on your face.

Sitting in a sun-drenched clearing in the bright November sun, the golden leaves from the ancient boughs gently and silently fell, and in my stillness I could hear the whisper from the trees ~

"look at the joy of letting go"

The trees were right. After recent difficult times, this stillness gave me the space to energetically say, no more!

As I let out a sigh, a wren sang and trilled, joining the woodland in celebrating my release. The ponies wandered into the clearing, giving me a reassuring and knowing glance as they passed by.

I caught a leaf as it floated to the ground and felt the trees strip the heaviness from me as they gently encouraged me from their embrace and out into the bright, and colourful, vast landscape of the heathland.

I couldn't tell you how long I stood there with the sun on my face absorbing the lighter and spacious feeling. Everything the sun touched, it shimmered with a silver lining and I had a view beyond trees, beyond heather and streams with the bright blue sky being my only limit.

The landscape was still and gentle in my transition of vision, focus and lightness. Bullfinches sat in the gorse and accompanied me in my tranquillity.

Another sigh of release - but this time it was a complete shedding, and the golden, nurturing warmth naturally brought a smile to my face. Along with this, the deer grazing on the heath lifted its head, the ponies whinnied, and the robin sang joyfully, as I wandered without a destination along a path I had never taken, filled with beauty, joy, and nourishing moments.

Thank you nature, I listened, I heard your advice, and you were the most beautiful example of letting go.
