This month has been a promising beginning to the year for me. I feel more focused on what I should offer in both my professional and personal life, as well as on the skills I need to develop and the new projects I want to undertake. It feels refreshing and exciting, though a bit daunting, to trust my intuition, relinquish control, and step outside my comfort zone. The year 2026 is all about embracing your true self, and I notice this in clients and friends who are now expressing opinions and emotions they previously kept to themselves.

However New Forest Nature and Nurture evolves this year, one thing that'll never change is the guided walks. This is where it all started eight years ago, and although they are no longer my bread and butter, they are my heart and soul. It is such a joy to meet new people who have a love of nature, folklore, history, or just want to be part of a community, and the joy isn't just for me, but for my faithful regulars, some of whom have walked with me right from the start. I am so grateful to them for their loyalty and for the friendships forged.

Talking of friends - I started the new year with a collaboration with the talented and energetic Sammie - The Hedgerow Yogi and were very blessed with a crisp, sunny day walking to the Mizmaze at Breamore while sharing our wisdom of nature, medicinal plants, history and folklore with some really lovely people.

We also managed to get another crisp, sunny walk at Millyford Bridge and got away with not getting too wet at Boldre in search of the Stratford Lyon. Too wet for him to show himself, but there was a questionable smell crossing the bridge over the river.

In February, we will stick to the drier, more accessible paths following all the rain and enjoy a forest walk from Fritham as well as a coastal walk at Highcliffe. Highcliffe is linked to tales of witches and smugglers, which I will share with the walkers, and it boasts a beautiful array of wildlife. Let's hope for another sunny day.

On Sunday I am holding the trust in the flow workshop. With over 20 years of experience as an intuitive healer, I invite you to a nurturing workshop designed to help you reconnect with your intuition and understand your own energy field. Through simple, practical exercises, you’ll discover that we are all healers.

During the day, I will demystify spiritual concepts and guide you in accessing the innate healer within. You will learn how to trust your energy, work with tools such as pendulums for validation, and develop greater awareness of your own energy and that of others—supporting well-being, relationships, and personal growth.

I love holding this workshop, it is wonderful to see people light up when they remember their capabilities as human beings - and here is what some of them had to say about this popular workshop in the past.

I am also offering the second class of a year of illuminating the human potential. In February we will be discussing shadow work. We unravel the importance of looking at our behaviours, patterns and anxieties. We start to unfold the root of the problem and how we can very quickly start to heal and learn the lessons from our shadows. Everything needs a balance of dark and light, and people tend to shy away from the shadow work. If you are thinking this isn't the workshop for you - then it really is! You will discover how to gently embrace your vulnerability and it will throw up a whole new layer of self discovery, awareness and intuition. Without understanding the shadows, you will find your true, authentic path harder to find.

I will be offering this workshop in Andover, Chichester and The New Forest, you can find the details and the venues here

In February, you'll start to hear the drumming of greater spotted woodpeckers as they establish their territories. Song thrushes will serenade you with their songs during woodland walks, while some woodland birds such as great tits and blue tits will begin practicing their calls on sunny February days. Ponds should be filled with frogspawn, and snowdrops, crocuses, and daffodils will start emerging from the ground. Wild garlic leaves will begin to appear in ancient woodlands, and spurge will start growing along woodland paths.

On February 1st, we embrace the full moon. The energy of release aligns with the intention of planting new ideas and initiating new plans as it intertwines with the energy of Imbolc. Spend a few days contemplating what needs to be let go to create space for your new plans and ideas. If possible, set aside some time on Sunday for an activity that will solidify your intentions. This could involve planting or tidying up your garden. Consider taking a walk in nature and gathering reeds to make a Brigid cross as an offering, or simply and mindfully drink fresh water to cleanse your system and add seeds to your meals.

Finally, thank you to all the subscribers who have stayed with me through the changes and I would like to welcome the new, and look forward to meeting you on future events.
