Chilly one this afternoon but that winter sunshine pulled me into the forest.
Accompanied only by ponies, birds and the wind in the trees I meandered through the sodden landscape.
Winter holds such beauty in the woodland for me. Lichen and mosses come to the forefront as I pass dormant ants nests under soft, swaying conifers.
Ancient bare-boughed beech and oak reach out to me as I pass... some I acknowledge, some I run my hands through their mossy trunk. Some I just stand under looking up until I'm dizzy and some offer me a seat. But when I am with them on a cold, quiet and atmospheric day like today, one thing is for sure.... I am part of the forest as it is my beating heart 💗
