the joy's OF July.

July is a moment of rest for the ponies in the New Forest. The foals are getting a little more adventurous and playful, socialising with their friends, giving their mothers a little time to rest and graze amongst the abundant herbs and grasses. July is a short window in the ponies' calendar where there are no drifts or hunting happening in the forest. The stallions are back happily grazing the pastures on the commoners' holdings, and they just have this time to recuperate, rest, feed, and socialise amongst the wilds.
